Organized by Artista de Colores, led by Marlene Ayen Galit, in collaboration with Art Heals, founded by Elizabeth Esguerra Castillo, the exhibition runs until March 2, 2026.

Artworks and Poetry on Display: Visual and Written Narratives of Identity, Memory, and Healing

The artworks and poems presented in Pintig ng Lahi reveal a rich visual tapestry of human experience, blending symbolism, cultural memory, and emotional introspection. Many of the paintings prominently feature human figures intertwined with nature, myth, and ancestral motifs, reflecting the deep connection between personal identity and collective heritage.

Several works depict women as central figures, portrayed as bearers of memory, nurture, and spiritual strength. Rendered in vibrant colors and intricate patterns, these figures often merge with floral elements, flowing landscapes, and celestial forms—symbolizing growth, resilience, and transformation. The recurring use of warm earth tones and luminous hues evokes themes of healing, belonging, and continuity.

Other pieces explore relationships and shared humanity, presenting intimate moments of companionship, protection, and love. Stylized faces, expressive eyes, and rhythmic line work suggest emotional depth and interconnectedness, reinforcing the exhibition’s message of unity across cultures and borders.

Nature-inspired compositions—lush fields, mountains, flowing water, and organic patterns—serve as both setting and metaphor. These elements reflect the Filipino reverence for the natural world while echoing universal ideas of harmony and coexistence. Circular and layered forms found in some artworks further emphasize cycles of life, ancestry, and renewal.

Together, the paintings on display form a visual dialogue that transcends geography and language. Each piece contributes to the collective heartbeat—pintig ng lahi—celebrating art not only as aesthetic expression but as a healing force and a bridge between cultures.
