SULYAP: A Celebration of Art, Emotions, and Memories Opens in Lucban

Lucban became the vibrant heart of Filipino creativity yesterday, September 16, 2025 as the much-awaited art exhibition “SULYAP: Sining, Damdamin at Alaala” officially opened at the Pambayang Galerya at Museo ng Lucban (Lucban Municipal Art Gallery & Museum), housed in the historic Escuela Pia on Concepcion Street corner Plasencia Street. The vibrant exhibit is a collaboration between Artista de Colores, Ka-Manlilikha, Cuadro Art Gallery, and San Juan Artists, supported by Art Heals by Elizabeth Esguerra Castillo and Creative Beacons International Group.
The opening ceremony, held at 3:00 p.m., gathered an esteemed roster of guests, including Ms. Katherine Ursolino from the Office of Vice-Governor Alcala, Lucban Mayor Agustin M. Villaverde, Sangguniang Bayan Councilors Avenue Rada, Mike Borines, Nikki Deveza-Abuy, and Pio Lim, Lucban Tourism Officer Maria Jennifer Babat, and Cornelio Rañeses, President of the Lucban Historical Society. Also in attendance were members of the Lucban Artists Guild and Lucban Academy HUMMs students, underscoring the spirit of community collaboration and cultural pride.
Running from September 16 to October 17, 2025, “SULYAP” brings together a diverse group of talented artists whose masterpieces capture emotions, memories, and visions, weaving them into a collective tapestry of Filipino artistry. Visitors can expect to explore works rich in passion, storytelling, and unique perspectives, each piece offering a glimpse into the soul of its creator.

As Lucban continues to establish itself as a hub of culture and creativity, “SULYAP” serves not only as an artistic showcase but also as a bridge connecting heritage, emotion, and imagination.
